Our Programs
Collaborate & Educate. Aprovet recently started a partnership with FNEInternational in order to expand our services to international veterinary students.
Volunteering and community engagement are at the core of our strategy. We invest heavily in a network as a whole.
Support Services
Our office is located in the tourist city, Granada, Nicaragua. Therefore, many animals are injured or hit by cars. The local people bring these animals to our clinic where we provide the care for free.
Training Programs
We offer high quality training opportunities the whole year in Nicaragua for veterinarians, technicians, vet students, pre-vets or others than simply love traveling while helping animals. As a student, you will be supervised by experienced veterinarians and technicians who enjoy teaching. There will be a staff Veterinarian leading the clinic. There may also be volunteer veterinarians. Volunteer veterinarians will be assigned a team of students to work with/supervise.
It is important for the safety of both the patients and the volunteers that you follow directions during the clinic. Our facility is well equipped and complete for a learning environment. We have a classroom, induction room, operating room and a small lab for basic lab work.
Equine Project
Aprovet provides veterinary assistance for working animals the year round, such as routine veterinary care for horses (and donkeys) as well perform parasite control, vaccinations and treat any health concerns or existing injuries.
Trap, Neuter, Return
TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) In order to help to control the over population of streets animals, we started our TNR program in the streets of the most poor barrios (towns) and rural communities of Nicaragua.
High Volume Clinics
Through our Community Development, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at AproVet-Nicaragua, and a source of much success for our Volunteer Organization. We set up mobile clinics to the whole country in partnership with rescue groups and offer high volume spay-neuter clinics during the whole year. Get in touch with us today and see how you can lend a helping hand with this program
Low Cost Veterinarian Serives
Through our Community Development, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. Nicaragua is the poorest country of Latin America. People live with less than 2 dollars per day. They love their animals but can´t afford veterinary services. That’s where Aprovet steps in and we offer the much needed veterinary services for a small donation.
Rabies Campaign
We partner with the Department of Zoonoses of the Ministry for the Health of Nicaragua. The Department provides rabies vaccines for us and we vaccinate all the animals that come for surgery to our clinic.
Conservation Wildlife Program
We partner with the Ministry of Environment Aprovet and provide free veterinary care for injured wildlife when they are rescue and abandoned or confiscated by the police.
Community Development
Oxen work very hard during the whole year while the sugar cane, coffee plantations and other crops are ready to pick up. We provide veterinary assistance for free in order to have them healthier so they can work better.
Join us in making a real difference in the world.
